About Us

Upcoming Events

36th Masters Games  September 8th-19th

Oxford Seniors started Masters Games in 1988.

For the first twenty years, the games were Monday through Saturday. In 2009 we extended the games to a week and a half. Since 2010, the games have been two weeks long.

We have anywhere from 100 to 150 participants each year. The games are started with a kick-off breakfast sponsored by Oxford Parks and Recreation. We end the games with an awards luncheon sponsored by local restaurants and businesses and a guest speaker. Participants receive a medal for first place and a ribbon for second and third place in each event.

In 1988 there were 8 events: Bowling, Basketball, darts, jump rope, football throw, horseshoes, softball hitting, and a ¼ mile walk race. Some events you play solo, some have partners and some have teams. I’m excited to say that 4 of those still exist: Bowling, darts, horseshoes and a walk. The walk is not a race, but a 1.8 mile fitness walk.

In 2025 we have 23 events: 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Baking Contest, Bowling, Brain Buster Triathlon, Bridge, Chair Balloon Volleyball, Corn Toss, Croquet, Darts, Dexterity Triathlon, Euchre, Fitness Walk, Golf (a card game), Golf Scramble, Golf Putting, Hike, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Team Trivia, Wii Bowling, and Yahtzee.

Masters Games are for anyone 50 years of age and older; you do not need to be a member of Oxford Seniors to participate in the games.

The oldest participant we’ve had was 99 in 2021. We had someone who had played in the games for over 25 years.

Registration forms will be available July 1st, with a deadline to register by August 29th.
